Each year on Valentine’s Day, Cupid brings love to those in a relationship. One thing every man should know by now is that diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

Every woman’s dream Valentine Day is a nice, fancy dinner, a bouquet of red roses, diamond earrings, necklesses, etc., like what we see on the commercials. But for those who can’t afford that list, don’t worry, here are some ideas that will cost you less.

1) Things Remembered: Personalize accessories, picture frames, knifes, cups, etc.: things like these are unforgettable and will last forever.

2) Victoria’s Secret: A gift card is always good but it’s more meaningful when you pick something out. Whether its lingerie, perfume or sweat suites, Victoria’s Secret is always the perfect gift for a lady.

3) Michael’s: The place to go when you want to make something yourself. A handmade gift is always the most memorable because it is made from the heart. It shows you took the time out of your day to make the gift.

4) Spa date: Make an appointment for a spa date. Make sure both partners attend instead of just giving one partner money or a gift card. Spa dates are relaxing and stress-free.

5) Target: Grab dinner, candy, rose peddles and candles then head to your nearest liquor store for a bottle of wine or champagne. Stay indoors and save much more money and time. No waiting in line or calling in for a reservation.

Ayanna Knowles, 20 of American International College remembered her favorite Valentine’s memory.

“The best Valentine’s Day I had was in 2015. He bought me roses and ice cream, my two favorite things in the world,” said Knowles. “We stayed in my dorm room and he helped me eat the ice cream while watching my favorite movie.”

Valentine’s Day is about showing your significant other how much you appreciate each other. Even if you cannot afford the gifts they want, showing how much you appreciate them is what matters the most.
