As the season for the AIC Women’s Basketball team is approaching, the Yellow Jackets are working hard for another outstanding year.

Last year the ladies finished off the 2016-2017 season with an overall record of 19-10.

For this year’s team the Yellow Jackets have a new assistant coach, Divine Jackson, who has coached women’s basketball for four years. Coach Jackson plans to bring excitement, high energy, enthusiasm, and development to the team.

Not only will it be hard work, but also he plans to bring some fun as well during the practices.

While encouraging the ladies during multiple drills and cheering them on with motivation to push through each station when tired, not only shows the team’s energy but also energy within both coaches.

Coach Jackson has a focused approach.

“Basketball is a book,” she said. “Like quarters there are four chapters in it. Each chapter tells a different part of you. Enjoy the journey, explore and challenge every bit of you.”

That’s where you will find WCS – Winners, Champions, Success. Coach Jackson is very thrilled and excited to start the season and start the season off with some enthusiasm.

With the upcoming season right around the corner, head coach Kristen Hutchison’s expectation for the team’s preparation is to work hard each and every day, to get better every day. Also, her goal is for the team to come together as a team once the first game comes.

Does she feel with both the expertise of herself and Coach Jackson, that her team be one of the dominant teams in the conference?

“We are very lucky to have Coach Jackson on our staff. We’re going to take it day by day and improve every day. Good things will come when we work hard,” Hutchison said.

Both coaches are very excited for this year’s season and plan on working very hard to get the team where they need to so that they will have much success. Looking into the season and seeing the hard work in practices, the lady Jackets will definitely be prepared for the season.

“We’re looking forward to an enjoyable 2017-2018 season,” Hutchison stated.
