AIC Women’s Lacrosse Coach speaks out
September 21, 2017
AIC Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Ashley Casiano is thinking that the future looks bright for the team.
With three years of coaching the Yellow Jackets, Casiano has changed the team’s program tremendously. Her first season ended with a 9-8 record, which was the best in program history.
Last year, the season ended with a 4-12 record.
Now, Casiano said she believes things will turn around this year.
“This year, one big difference on the team is attitude,” Casiano said.
“The attitudes are so positive, and everyone is excited and ready to go,” she added.
Casiano said that positive attitude is definitely going to be this year’s strength as far as women’s lacrosse is concerned.
With last year’s strength being ground ball aggressiveness, and their weakness being lack of positivity, Casiano believes that this year, the Lady Jackets are ready to go all around.
“It’s hard to tell how the season is going to go since we do not have our whole team together just yet, but it is definitely starting in a very good way,” she said.
The team lost eight seniors this past season, and gained five freshman recruits.
