On the night of November 13, 2015 there was a series of terrorist attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis. These attacks were in retaliation to French air strikes on ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq.

The attackers left 130 people dead and twice as more individuals injured.

This was the most traumatic event France has seen since World War II.

After this event occurred there were many campaigns on social media using the slogans “Pray for Paris” and “Peace for Paris.”

However, it should also be taken into consideration that these type of attacks occur almost everyday in middle eastern countries.

Their war on terror has been going on for years, but is never broadcasted. For this reason, if they can survive, many are led to believe Paris will move onward as well.

AIC students, staff and faculty alike gathered together on Tuesday, November 17 for a moment of silence and a prayer lead by Father John McDonagh in the wake of the horrific attacks in Paris.
